Combined ADHD & Autism (ASD) Assessment – Streamlined Pathway

At Enlightened Minds, we offer a single, coordinated pathway for people who may have both ADHD and Autism. You can begin with a free email screening to check whether a combined assessment is appropriate and to ask questions about the process. If you proceed, the assessment is completed across focused appointments: a developmental history interview (ADI-R/ACIA), ADHD Part 1, an autism observation (ADOS-2), and ADHD Part 2, followed by a multidisciplinary team (MDT) review. You then receive a dedicated autism feedback session and comprehensive reports covering both conditions, with clear, practical recommendations.

This joined-up approach reduces repeat appointments, keeps evidence consistent, and lets you pay per step to spread costs. Our assessments are NHS/NICE compliant, delivered by a multidisciplinary team for fully integrated outcomes. Where indicated, we can make direct referrals for private ADHD medication and offer post-diagnostic support services. We assess all age ranges (children, teens and adults), and also provide standalone ADHD or autism assessments if you prefer a single-condition route.

Appointments & FeesFree ADHD Screening

Appointment 1 – Developmental History (ADI-R / ACIA)

A clinician gathers a detailed life history and current presentation from you (and/or a parent/partner where relevant). This anchors both ADHD and Autism assessment with evidence across settings and time.

Appointment 2 – ADHD Part 1

Structured interview and validated rating scales explore attention, impulsivity, hyperactivity and executive functioning. We also screen differentials (sleep, anxiety, trauma) to keep findings robust.

Appointment 3 – ADOS-2

A standardised observation assessing communication, social interaction and flexible thinking. The module is chosen by age/ability to ensure a fair, evidence-based picture.

Appointment 4 – ADHD Part 2

Follow-up to review collateral information and rating scales, map impairment across home/study/work, and complete the ADHD diagnostic formulation.

MDT (Multidisciplinary Team Review)

Psychologists and specialist clinicians meet to integrate data from all stages. This joined-up review ensures consistent, NICE-aligned outcomes for both ADHD and Autism.

Autism Feedback Session

We explain your Autism findings clearly: strengths, challenges and practical supports. You’ll have time for questions and leave with next steps you can use right away.

Reports

You’ll receive comprehensive, clinician-signed reports covering ADHD and/or Autism, written in clear, plain English. Each report includes: a concise executive summary (diagnoses and rationale), full methodology (tools used, e.g., ADI-R/ACIA, ADOS-2, validated ADHD scales), developmental history, observed findings, differential considerations, and a transparent formulation tying the evidence together.

We add practical, tailored recommendations for education and work (reasonable adjustments, classroom/lecture strategies, exam provisions), daily-living supports, and signposting to services. Where helpful, we include template wording for employers/HR, schools, DSA/SFE applications and EHCP contributions.

Appendices contain score sheets and references to NICE guidance. PDF copies are provided for you to share with your GP or other providers; on request we can supply covering letters or referral notes (e.g., private ADHD medication) and brief summaries for third parties. Turnaround is prompt after MDT, with time for follow-up questions.
